The journey started with the desire to get a pet. It needed to be low maintenance and apartment friendly. It wasn't quite the right time to get a full blown aquarium so, on a whim, I decided to try brine shrimp- also known as Seamonkeys or Aquadragons.

The experience has been mixed. Whilst the Aquadragons have come along well, the Seamonkeys and the DIY setup I bought have been a bit less encouraging. I plan to persist with the brine shrimp but I'm ready for the next level.

The plan- to cycle a cold water aquarium with ramshorn snails.
